December is here - and there is one little guy in this house who is totally excited! Yes, Mason is really starting to understand how this whole Santa thing works. We've been busy reading The Night Before Christmas and putting out our decorations. Those of you on FaceBook may have heard Mason's reaction to my pile of decorations in the basement, but for those of you that didn't hear, when I took him down to get garlands out of the basement, he looked at all of my open boxes and piles or ornaments and exclaimed, "this place is messier than my sock drawer"!
Out of the mouth of babes!
Here is Mason, the very first time on Santa's Lap - he asked for a Monster Truck!
We're excited to have Ben home soon - classes ended on December 4th, but he has to stay at Lehigh until the 12th for his last exam. He'll be home with us for about a month before he begins his last semester at college!
When Ben was home over Thanksgiving we put him to work!
Emerson, though not having a thorough understanding of Santa, can Ho Ho Ho! with the best of them! Currently, She is giving us a run for it in the sleep department, much like her brother did (and still does from time to time), but we expect when her last couple of first year teeth come through that things will be much better. She's 14 months old now and is beginning to talk - she can produce a whole barnyard and zoo full of animal sounds, and knows handy words like Pop-Tart, Pancake, Hot Dog and All Done.
Cute shot of Daddy & Emerson at the MillCreek Tree Lighting.
Right now, we're preparing the house for Christmas Night when we'll take on the honor of hosting the Downes Family Chirstmas Party. This will be the first time, in too many years to count, that the party won't be held at Grammy & Grampy's house. Though it won't be quite the same, having everyone together will keep the loving memories going stong!
