Funny Faces & Funny Business

Hello All ~ Sorry to be away so long...but gee we've been busy!

Young Mr Cross has kept us going from Doctor's appt to Doctor's appt. He's having a terrible time with keeping food down and lots of gas and crying. Needless to say we're all a bit on the tired side, just working to find out the cause of all the distress.

We spent 2 days with Docs last week - first his pediatrician who couldn't find anything wrong with him, then with the nice folks at ME MED doing ultrasounds and barium swallows so we could see his insides. Turns out there's nothing majorly wrong there. So we were directed back to the lab for blood work etc. All the test came back fine. He was prescribed Zantac to see if that might make him a bit more comfortable....so far, not helping a bit!

While the exams were going on Dr Browne detected a murmur in Mason's heart, so yesterday we went to Pediatric Cardiology Associates to get that checked out. Thankfully the murmur is fine and he shouldn't have any complications from it. While the Doc was checking that she also found a small hole in his heart, but said not to worry, that too is fairly common and should close up on it's own. Let's hope so.

Our next stop to end the puking and crying is a Pediatric GI specialist, however with only one team of Doc's in town the soonest they can see Mason is March 27th. I called this morning to get us on a cancellation list. Hopefully we can get in a bit sooner.

However even with all the antics lately this child is still the love of our Bleery-eyed lives. Through it all he's getting more and more alert and beginning to coo and make funny faces!

Ben is headed home for spring break and I can't wait for the two of them to get re-acquainted.
